Terms of Service
Last updated July 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
These terms govern your access to and use of Virgil, the personal AI assistant, including the desktop application, the command line interface, and this web portal (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Virgil is offered on the Starter, Amplify, and Exponential plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor. Prices, plan features, and usage limits may change, and we will give reasonable notice before a change affects you.
You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to break the law, infringe the rights of others, or interfere with the Service or the people who use it. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, resell the Service without permission, or use it to build a competing product by scraping or reverse engineering.
5. Your content and data
You keep ownership of the content you bring to Virgil, including your notes, messages, and calendar data. You grant us the limited rights we need to operate the Service on your behalf. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and brand, is owned by Virgil and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or to the underlying software beyond the right to use the Service.
7. Third-party services
Virgil connects to services you choose to link, such as your calendar and messaging accounts, and relies on third-party providers for authentication, payments, and model inference. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Virgil is an assistant, not a substitute for professional judgment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Virgil will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, the rights granted to you under these terms will end.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
